Last year, I made resolutions and nothing happened after that. I had lived the way, I was used to living. Wise man says, you’ll get what you deserves, not what you want. My resolutions were my list of wants. I did nothing about those. I didn’t strive for becoming the person who deserves to have those things. So, at the end of the year, I had nothing in my basket to show up. And, what’s interesting about this is I’m not shameful about that now. The commitments were to myself, the writings were in my personal notebook, and now, no one knows about my failures.
This year I an trying a new approach. I am making my new year resolution public so that I can feel some kind of accountability to myself. I think It’ll work as I am the person who still cares about what people think about him and when says a thing to someone tries to do that. So, here’s my top five goals for 2016.
- Taking my weight to 62 kg. I’m 76 now. BMI is 29.8 which is in overweight category and indicates if I do not do something about this now, God will taking the responsibility of writing the end of the story.
- Reading 20 books on different subjects. Last year, the number of books I finished were about 6. Many were quarter & half finished. But, these 20 will be from cover to cover. Approximately, 1 book in every 3 weeks.
- Writing 20 blog posts. I generally write when I feel to write. This year, I want to practice a little bit more. James Altucher says when you’re not good at something, do that in higher quantity. Because, that will help you becoming good. And, I’m not good at writing.
- Doing 30 days challenge. I’ve started this last year’s October. This time I’ll do for the full year, 12 months. By the way. for January, this is walking 5,000 steps a day.
- Learning 3 new skills. Initially, I’ve cooking, playing flute, and making handmade craft in mind. But, these might change and others interesting skills may be added.
I’ve listed some others also in my notebook. But, I do think those will not make much difference if not accomplished. However, the above five will do.
Hope this time I’ll be obedient to myself.
Best of Luck, Kaysher !!! J
